We love celebrating our incredible supporters who dedicate their time to fundraise for our patients and their families. This month, we’d like to thank for the following people, organisations and companies for supporting us in December:

Happy Feet Dance Academy – Have yourself a merry little Dancemas

The wonderful performers at Happy Feet Dance Academy held their bi-annual Dance show in December to showcase all the hard work their students have put in learning different routines over the past 2 years. This year’s performance had a Christmas theme, with the second half of the show being Christmas songs and dances. The Dancing Dad’s made a come back again, this time in elaborate Christmas jumpers, raising money for us with their dancing. They put on a spectacular performance, raising an incredible £2,657.50!

#YNRA – You’ll Never Run Alone

Supporters Mark, Rob, Jose and Matthew took on the incredible challenge of running from our Hospice to Anfield Stadium in Liverpool to raise money for us and Victoria’s Promise. The Hospice is a cause close to all their hearts, but this challenge was to remember Rob’s wife Deb, who died at the Hospice in December 2023. The team ran over a marathon in distance per day, across all different terrains and arrived at Anfield Stadium in time for the Liverpool vs Fulham match. It was a challenge that pushed them to breaking point, but with the support of each other and knowing they were doing it for such good causes, they pushed through to the end. To date, they have raised a phenomenal £49,006 for both causes!

Watch their story here.

Tesco Chineham Collection

Our wonderful team of volunteers were back out in Tesco in Chineham Shopping Centre before Christmas collecting funds. Despite the cold weather, they turned up with huge smiles and a variety of festive hats. The public were feeling incredibly generous, raising a wonderful £1,459.93.

Happy Wrappy

We saw the return of our Happy Wrappy service in December, where members of the public visited our pop-up shop in Festival Place to get their Christmas presents wrapped in exchange for a donation. We were incredibly busy, with customers bringing in bags of presents to be wrapped and members of the public very generously donating to the Hospice as they completed their Christmas shopping. Over £4,000 was raised across the 10 days we were open!

Keith Brown’s Christmas Baubles

Keith Brown held his annual Christmas Baubles fundraiser throughout December – decorating the outside of his house with an incredible Christmas light display and performance. This year was bigger and better than ever before, we saw the addition of the drum playing bear, colour-changing stars and of course, the snow cannon! Hundred’s of people visited his house in South Ham throughout December to enjoy the show, and hundreds of children visited on Christmas Eve to meet Santa! He raised a phenomenal £11,056.29 for the Hospice throughout the December, absolutely smashing previous years!

Basingstoke Choral Society’s Christmas Carols

The Basingstoke Choral Society very kindly sang Christmas carols for the public in December, one week in The Malls and the following week in Festival Place. They sang a great range of Christmas songs which the public loved, and generously collected funds for us. Over the two weekends, they raised an incredible £832.98!

Overton Choral Society’s Christmas Carol Concert

In December, the Overton Choral Society held their annual Christmas Concert, and chose to support us again. It’s a wonderful evening of festive cheer, and attendees were incredibly generous with their donations, raising an amazing £814.10 from the evening.

Alton RFC Memorial Match

Alton Rugby Club held a memorial rugby match in memory of their core club members, Paul Cantoni, Alan Fleetwood and Mike Thomas. It was a wet and windy day, but despite the weather they had players travel from all over to take part, including Petersfield, Cornwall and even Australia. There was a great turn out from players and spectators and the day was a huge success, raising over £3,000!
