Summer Memories
Remember and honour your loved ones with our Summer Memories and at our celebration on Sunday 14 July.
When you choose to remember the life of your loved one as part of our Summer Memories celebration (previously known as the Sunflower Celebration), it is a beautiful way to pay tribute to your loved one and celebrate their life, as well as helping us to continue to care for patients and their families this summer, offering them comfort and reassurance at what can be one of the darkest times in their lives.

Your dedication will be included in our Order of Service, which you can keep as a memento after the event.
Please note, dedications must be submitted by 12PM, Monday 1 July, in order to be included in our order of service.
With a gift of £30 or more, you will have the opportunity to receive one of our limited-edition metal Forget-Me-Not flower garden decorations. These will form a stunning ‘Summer Memories Meadow’ display during the event. This year, we have chosen the Forget-Me-Not flower as our theme, a powerful symbol of love, remembrance, and lasting connections. We believe it beautifully describes the spirit of our event and the memories of those we will be honouring.
“Summer Memories provides me and my family with a safe space to remember our dad, Jim, and allows us to give back to the place that cared for him 25 years ago. We are able to come together as a community and cherish the memories of the loved ones we hold dear. For me, it helps continue to bring my dad’s memory along on my journey through life. Last year, I had the opportunity to start bringing my baby girl to the service so that she’ll always know her Grandad Jim.” – Frankie Skillett
In 2023, St. Michael’s Hospice supported over 800 people like Jim and his family. Our services are free of charge, but with only 16% NHS funding, we rely on the generosity of kind-hearted people like you to raise the additional £15,000 per day needed to continue our care. As demand for our services increases, so do our costs. By donating a gift this year and dedicating a Forget-Me-Not flower to a loved one, you can ensure that patients and their families can receive hospice care when they need it most, whether at home, in our Living Well Centre or in the Hospice.
