Welcome to our first spotlight of 2025! We love sharing and celebrating how our incredible community are supporting us. Read on to find out how our community helped us in January:

January saw the end of our 3 year partnership with Sherfield Oaks Golf Club. In the past year, they have gone above and beyond in their fundraising, from bakes sales to Skydives, every member has fully supported the Captain’s charity. Their golf day was a huge success, raising the most they’ve ever raised from a single day with their ‘Book Characters’ theme, and saw members go all out with their costumes, including one team dressing up as characters from Peter Pan and renovating their golf buggy into a pirate ship! They raised a phenomenal £19,557 throughout the year which is going to make such a difference at the Hospice, we’re so grateful for all their support!

Weybrook Golf Club

This year the Club, Ladies and Seniors Captains at Weybrook Golf Club have chosen to support us! We were invited to their first event of the year, the Captains Drive In, which saw over 100 members attend to play and support the day. They held a great raffle, had sweets available to buy and raffled off a years membership to raise money. They have started the year on a high and we can’t wait to see what their next event is!

Basingstoke Conservative Club

The Basingstoke Conservative Club have chosen us to support as their Charity of the Year for 2 years! The club is full of incredibly generous members, holding weekly quiz nights, live music evenings and fabulous event days to raise money for charity throughout the year. We’re thrilled that the members have chosen to support us, and can’t wait to attend their first event!

Murder on the Starship Brimpton

The Brimpton Amateur Dramatics Society held their annual Murder Mystery performance in January. This year’s show was Murder on the Starship Brimpton, which investigated the murder of the ships Captain as they traveled through space. With sound effects and audience participation, this year’s performance was incredibly interactive and shows the growth of the group over the years. The audience loved it, and it shows as they raised an incredible £4,020 for the Hospice!

The Overton Mummers held their annual performance on Boxing Day and chose St. Michael’s Hospice to support again with donations from the public. They are very passionate about recognising our Overton Shop in their fundraising, as it shows the Hospice’s reach outside of Basingstoke and is an important symbol of how the Hospice supports people from across North Hampshire. It gives us at the Overton Mummers an opportunity to donate the money locally to the friendly team, and we’re really grateful for their continued support!

Festival Place

Our annual Happy Wrappy event in Festival Place.

Thank you to Festival Place in Basingstoke. Over the past three years, through our Charity Partnership, Festival Place have assisted our Fundraising and Retail teams in utilising the shopping centre, helping the Hospice connect with new supporters and raising substantial funds for care in North Hampshire.

TD Synnex

A big thank you to TD Synnex for raising £8,380.34 through our Charity of the Year Partnership. We are delighted that they are supporting us again in 2025 and can’t wait to see what they have planned this year!

Mears Group

Thank you to Mears Group who chose as their Charity of the Year and raised a fantastic £2,187 through various fundraising activities!

Pulse Cashflow Finance

Pulse Cashflow Finance raised a wonderful £975 for our Hospice after choosing us as their Charity of the Year too – thank you!

Trusts

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the charitable Trusts and Foundations that have supported us in January. The Gerald Micklem Charitable Trust, The De Brye Charitable Trust, The Legge Family Fund, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation’s support have been significant in supporting our essential services, including counselling, our Motor Neurone Disease service, and our core operational costs. Thanks to their generosity and kindness we have been awarded grants totalling £10,700 to continue delivering our essential hospice services and care for the North Hampshire community.
