We love sharing the amazing fundraising our supporters are doing – read all about the fundraising that took place in March:
Brew ‘n’ Bake
Kingsclere supporters held their bi-annual Brew ‘n’ Bake fundraiser in March, where guests bring either a brew they’ve been working on (could be beer, spirits or non-alcoholic) or a delicious sweet treat and get to sample everyone’s treats throughout the evening. They then get to vote for their favourites, and the winner gets the brew or bake trophies. It’s a great evening that really brings the village together and helps good causes. This year they chose to support St. Michael’s Hospice with their funds raised, and everyone was incredibly generous, raising over £1,800 in just one evening!
Race Night at The Post Box
The Post Box Sports Bar kick-started their partnership with us by hosting a charity race night for us and Autism Hampshire. The evening was free to attend, with the races being played on the screens behind the bar and attendees bidding for their favourite horses. Everyone had a great evening and a huge £1,930 was raised for both charities!
Kevin Mothersole – 8 hour static cycle
Kevin chose to support the Hospice with an 8 hour static cycle challenge at work, after we cared for his colleagues and friends. He took on the challenge in the canteen, where he saw everyone throughout the day as they came in for refreshments. As the last half hour drew to a close, many colleagues from across the company came down to the canteen to cheer him along the final stretch. He raised an incredible £826 for the Hospice – huge thank you to Kevin!
Verdi Requiem – Hampshire Choral Festival
The lovely team at Hampshire Choral Festival are hosting a concert at The Anvil of Verdi Requiem alongside local choirs from across Hampshire. They have chosen us as one of their benefiting charities for the retiring collection, and a couple of our lovely volunteers have offered to help collect on the evening. Tickets are £30 and available to book from The Anvil website here: https://www.anvilarts.org.uk/events/hampshire-choral-festival
Trusts
We’re grateful to the charitable trusts and foundations that have helped us raise essential funds for our various hospice services and projects. Their support enabled us to raise a total of £61,261 in March, which is an incredible contribution! Charitable trusts and organisations play a significant role in allowing us to continue providing our crucial hospice care, ensuring we can offer high-quality care and support to our local North Hampshire community. A big thank you to the Virgin Unite Local Legend Fund, The Michael Anna Wix Charitable Trust, The Bayfield Charitable Trust, Resurrection Furniture, The Englefield Charity Trust, and The William Allen Young Charitable Trust for their tremendous generosity and support of St. Michael’s Hospice in March 2025.
