On Sunday 4th December, residents of Basingstoke and North Hampshire met at the Hospice to remember and celebrate loved ones at our Light up a Life event.
Hundreds of people attended the in-memory evening, which is held annually at the Hospice. The event included entertainment from Oakridge Federation, Basingstoke Silver Band, Ooh Mama Ladies’ Choir and Basing Singers, before a moment of remembrance and reflection.
The celebration service called on residents to make dedications to remember the lives of loved ones, while raising much-needed funds for the local hospice.
Lorraine Pink, Director of Income Generation at St. Michael’s Hospice said, ‘We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who joined us for our Light up a Life evening. It was a beautiful evening and we were honoured to pay tribute to, and remember, so many special people. Funds raised from Light up a Life will help us provide vital care to our patients and their families this winter.’
This year, it will cost £5.8m to run the Hospice and services, and just 16% of this is funded by the NHS. You can still support us by making a Light up a Life donation.
